Dewberry Joins Greater Washington Board of Trade Emergency Preparedness Committee
Dewberry, a leading professional
services firm, has recently joined the Greater Washington Board of Trade
Emergency Preparedness Committee. The committee is dedicated to advancing
emergency preparedness and business continuity for its members and the greater
Washington, D.C., area.
“We are looking forward to being a
part of this committee and contributing to the Board of Trade’s mission,” says
Larry Zensinger, Dewberry’s vice president and director of homeland security.
“Dewberry has been a member of the Board of Trade for many years. Sharing our
broad experience in emergency preparedness with the committee was a natural
fit.”
According to the Board of Trade, it
is working to improve the region’s preparedness by developing programs and
policies that integrate the private sector into regional emergency response
planning. In addition, it strives to increase awareness of business continuity
issues, educate business leaders on the region’s pressing issues, and improve
public-private partnerships between government, nonprofit and business leaders.
Zensinger will represent Dewberry on
the Emergency Preparedness Committee, as he has been integrally involved in
Dewberry’s responsibilities to federal, state and local governments, as well as
private entity clients, in the areas of emergency planning, training and
exercising, disaster response and recovery, and hazard mitigation planning.
Prior to joining Dewberry, Zensinger was affiliated with the Federal Emergency
Management Agency, where he managed FEMA’s disaster assistance and recovery
programs.
