National Preparedness Month. Are You Prepared?
September is National Preparedness Month. In the event of an emergency are you prepared and what can you do to if you aren't?
Because emergencies and disasters can happen anytime, the
Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) is reminding you that everyone can take a few steps now to
better prepare themselves and their families before the next emergency
strikes. FEMA encourages you to visit www.Ready.gov for preparedness information.
Sponsored by FEMA's Ready Campaign and the Citizen Corps,
National Preparedness Month focuses on changing perceptions about
emergency preparedness. The National Preparedness Month Coalition is
open to all public and private sector organizations and encourages
organizations to help spread the word via news advisories, PSA's and
press releases.
Announcing the sixth annual National Preparedness Month,
acting FEMA Regional Administrator Dennis Hunsinger said, "We urge
every American to take the steps necessary to keep their family safe,
which include getting a kit, making a plan, being informed and getting
involved."
Health and Safety products company, American Scientific Resources, Inc. (Pink Sheets: ASFX), will play its part by:
- Distributing preparedness information to stakeholders
- Including preparedness information in its websites, emails, and invoices
- Writing opinion editorials regarding the importance of emergency preparedness
- Participating
in other activities to bring further attention to National Preparedness Month with an emphasis on family and children's preparedness.
