Avineon Announces Avineonics 2.0 with New and Enhanced Emergency Preparedness and Incident Management Features

Avineon Inc., a provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management solutions, announced immediate availability of Avineonics(R) 2.0, the latest version of its state-of-the-art emergency management software. The application enables organizations to better integrate emergency preparedness with daily operations and increase the efficiency of incident management processes. Released to coincide with National Preparedness Month, Avineonics 2.0 includes new and enhanced features for measuring emergency preparedness, managing incidents as they occur, and producing after action reports. The latest release highlights Avineon's commitment to providing the most robust and comprehensive technology in the market today.

Avineonics facilitates collaboration and provides a common operational picture for organizations such as utility companies, municipalities, regulatory bodies, and government agencies to manage and monitor incident response. The software applies business process management (BPM) for effective execution of procedures such as emergency operations plans (EOP), standard operating procedures (SOP), storm restoration plans, and communication plans. Avineonics also supports Incident Command System (ICS) features and National Incident Management System (NIMS) guidelines. The solution can be implemented as a stand-alone application or part of an integrated system.

Avineonics features a number of pre-incident and preparedness functions such as training management and documentation, emergency roles management, ICS team structures, and exercises and drills. During emergency events, executive, incident command, and emergency management teams can use Avineonics for communications management, damage assessment, resource planning, task planning, authorization, mobilization, check-in, check-out, task assignments, transfer of command, and demobilization. The solution also supports integration with geographic information systems to map the location of key resources and events during an incident. All system transactions receive a date and time stamp, building a traceable repository for auditing and generating after action reports.

"An effective emergency management system is imperative to help organizations of all sizes in every industry manage safety, customer satisfaction, and costs during unplanned events," said Gary Wilkison, senior vice president of Avineon's Commercial Systems division. "Avineonics helps these organizations implement and automate standardized processes for emergency management, ensuring that they are better equipped to respond to incidents."
