SunGard Availability Services to Present Avoiding Business Continuity Program Pitfalls at DRJ Fall World
At a time when the H1N1 flu outbreak has brought the need for business continuity and pandemic planning to the forefront, SunGard Availability Services will gather with CIOs, IT professionals and crisis management leaders
to discuss the importance of business continuity at one of the world's
largest business continuity/disaster recovery conferences, DRJ Fall World 2009. The conference will take place on September 13-16, 2009 in San Diego.
The conference will feature a presentation, "Ways You
Know Your Business Continuity Program is in Trouble," given by Bill
Hughes, director of the business continuity and disaster recovery
consulting team at SunGard Availability Services.
Hughes will present on how to avoid common business
continuity program pitfalls. He also will discuss the importance of
developing programs based upon realistic threats and responses, and
offer best practices and techniques for creating a comprehensive business continuity plan. Hughes will be speaking on Monday, September 14 at 9:30 a.m. PT in the second general session.
"Business continuity programs are not successful or
unsuccessful simply based on aspects such as technologies, support and
funding," Hughes said. "Truly successful business continuity
programs are achieved by taking a hard look at an organization's unique objectives and challenges, and developing a targeted, laser-focused approach to address them."
SunGard Availability Services will also be showcasing a
number of innovative business continuity management solutions and
software tools at Booth #40-42. Included in the demos, SunGard will be
showing Secure2Disk,
a disk-based, online backup and recovery solution for organizations
that will improve the reliability of both operational backup and
off-site recovery of IT systems.
