Survey to Evaluate Organizations' Preparedness for a Pandemic

Business and government leaders nationwide are facing pointed questions about the possibility of a deadly and disruptive worldwide flu pandemic. To help organizations respond to imminent continuity challenges due to H1N1, leaders in publishing, information services have joined together to create The Pandemic Prevention Council. The mission of the council is to share best practices in organizational continuity planning and pandemic prevention through insightful and informative resources.

The Pandemic Prevention Council has developed a survey designed to evaluate and gauge how prepared organizations are compared to other organizations. "We encourage all business and government leaders to take the survey to see how they measure up to other companies nationwide," said Bob Mate, CEO of member organization Thompson Publishing.

The sheer number of questions that business leaders have regarding a flu pandemic, and their sobering consequences, are staggering. The Pandemic Prevention Council plans to feature expert guidance on dealing with these and other questions. "The expected Swine Flu season will present the first major test of every COOP for pandemic influenza, with the emphasis on the efficient and effective management of limited and dispersed human resources," commented Jon Desenberg, Senior Policy Director at member organization The Performance Institute, a public policy think tank.

To take part in the survey, simply go to www.PreventPandemic.org. The Pandemic Prevention Council will release a white paper after the survey results have been reviewed, validated and analyzed.
