Choice Logistics Renews Contract with SunGard for Business Continuity and Overall Contingency Strategy Support
Choice Logistics, the global specialist in outsourced mission-critical service parts logistics services, has renewed its agreement with SunGard Availability Services in order to help ensure consistent delivery of its industry-leading services. SunGard is a pioneer in disaster recovery, and a leading provider of IT Operations and Information Availability management solutions. Choice relies on the SunGard Availability Services infrastructure to support its business continuity plans.

Choice utilizes SunGard’s technology in a two-phased strategy to provide redundant protection of its data and enterprise systems. SunGard’s workforce recovery supports Choice’s offsite secondary call center, as backup to its Global Logistics Center, housing Account Services, Call Center, Control Desk, Inventory Control Group and Field Services operations. Choice also leverages SunGard’s hosted IT and Communications environment as a redundant layer of security for data storage, communications, exchange and critical parts logistics business applications. Both approaches support the real-time transfer and sharing of data to mirror Choice’s primary operation, so systems are consistently up to date.
These measures provide Choice with the capability to be fully operational in a secure environment without data loss in a matter of minutes. Coupled with SunGard and its own internal continuity processes, Choice consistently achieves the coveted system uptime rating of 99.999 percent availability.
