Washington, D.C.- Mid-Atlantic Disaster Recovery Association Meeting February 19
MADRA's 62nd meeting to be hosted at MITRE in Reston, Va. on February 19. Guest speakers for this meeting will include Mike Raber, COOP program manager, Defense Telecommunications Service -- Washington and David A. Vignolo, COOP program manager, U.S. Senate, Office of the Sergeant at Arms.
Raber's presentation is entitled, "You have your GETS Cards and you THINK you're READY -- Maybe NOT!" which will review the Government Emergency Telephone Service (GETS) as an essential communications solution that should be deployed by all eligible organizations. But, how can you be sure the system will work when needed and that the right people know how to use it? This session will provide those key answers.
Vignolo's presentation is entitled, “COOP at the United States Senate” and will provide an overview of the Senate's organizational structure and emergency response program, as well as the history of the Senate's Continuity Program since its inception in September 2000. The emphasis will be on emergency preparedness programs.
The meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MITRE (1H300), 7515 Colshire Dr. in McLean. MADRA will also welcome guests of the Contingency Planning Exchange (CPE) Washington, D.C. Chapter, with whom MADRA has an information exchange program. We encourage all industry practitioners to attend.
